Sky on fire
The sunset does really awesome to clouds. I wish I had my camera earlier, the sky looked great today.

We’ve been told since we moved to Pittsburgh to try Primanti Bros. They put fries and everything on the sandwiches, but I wasn’t impressed. My sandwich was too spicy and the slaw was horrible.
The fog was pretty heavy this morning over the entire area. It lasted through my entire commute to work.
Old broken down steps on the banks of the Monongahela River.
Taken at the Pittsburgh Zoo. The rest of the (unedited) pictures from the trip are here
For my friends in Memphis that are complaining about the cold.

I took this picture of the Monongahela River this morning as part of a continuing series of pictures I’m taking of it outside our front door.
It’s just a little cold up here.
The shopping center across from our apartment has a Longhorn Steakhouse. If you’ve never eaten there, you should. It’s as good of a steak as I’ve had outside of Texas. There was one that opened in Memphis shortly before we moved and we had great service there in addition to the excellent food. When I first saw the Longhorn here, I decided right then that when I got a job we would celebrate by eating there. 3 months and a couple weeks later (we waited until I got my first paycheck), and tonight’s the night we’ll be feasting on good steak. We’re also going to the movies. I think we’re going to see Mall Cop, but I’m not sure. It’s definately the way to start the weekend in these freezing temperatures. It’s supposed to be -10 tonight, and has been in single digits since yesterday!
I’ve gotta be careful about not updating or I’m going to stop completely. I’m in the middle of my second week of work, and have already received my first paycheck. I was expecting a tiny check because I have only worked a week, but it’s a full check. That surprised me, but I guess they don’t base the checks on the time sheets turned in. Works out better for me.
I’m fitting right in at work, and am getting a lot more comfortable with the layout. I went to a school on my own today to swap out a PC and didn’t get lost. I’ve also been working on the school district’s SCCM server and its WSUS integration. I’ve got a lot of WSUS experience, but this is my first time really working with SCCM (SMS). I have successfully deployed software, but this update integration doesn’t seem very integrated to me. I’m hoping to find some books or resources online that will help.
Teresa and I think we’ve worked out our transportation. I drop her off in the mornings and she takes a bus home. She usually beats me home by a few minutes, but with this arctic weather, that’ll probably change. It’s 16 degrees right now, and I’m still not that impressed. The streets are generally OK after they’ve been salted, and people are driving safer for the most part. My drive is largely highway, and is pretty easy. I think my commute in Memphis was more stressful. I sat in one place on I-40 much longer on average than I’ve sat on the highway here.
It’s getting time to leave, so I’ve gotta pack up and dig the car out of the snow.
